We are seeking a Regional Manager to lead the operations, growth, and financial performance of a regional fiber network business. This individual will have full operational and P&L responsibility for the market, driving customer growth, operational excellence, and profitability while serving as the senior leader for the region.
This role requires a strong balance of business leadership and operational expertise, overseeing network operations, customer experience, construction handoffs, and community engagement. The General Manager will work cross-functionally with engineering, construction, sales, and operations teams to maximize network performance and support future expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Business Management
- Own the overall financial performance of the regional business, including P&L, CAPEX, and OPEX budgets.
- Develop and execute strategies that improve profitability, operational efficiency, and market growth.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to optimize costs and increase return on investment.
Market Growth & Operations
- Partner with internal commercial teams and service providers to drive subscriber growth and maximize network utilization.
- Coordinate closely with construction and engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions from network build to ongoing operations.
- Oversee day-to-day field operations, including network maintenance, service activations, monitoring, and emergency restoration activities.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing operations team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Customer & Community Engagement
- Ensure exceptional customer service and focus on customer retention throughout the region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, utility partners, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the organization within the local business community and at industry events as needed.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to installation quality, service delivery, restoration times, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze operational performance, outage trends, and maintenance metrics to improve network reliability and workforce productivity.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, strategic partnerships, and additional revenue opportunities within the market.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- MBA or advanced business education is a plus.
Experience
- 8 years of leadership experience within telecommunications, broadband, utilities, or infrastructure operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibility exceeding $10M, including CAPEX and OPEX planning.
- Strong understanding of:
- Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH)
- Enterprise fiber networks
- Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) operations
- Broadband deployment and maintenance
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across operations, engineering, construction, and customer support.
- Prior experience working with municipalities, utilities, government agencies, or regulatory organizations is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of fiber network operations, maintenance, installation, and restoration practices.
- Experience with GIS platforms, network documentation systems, and project management tools.
- Familiarity with OTDR testing, fiber characterization, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and other safety and quality standards.
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based with regular field visits to support operations and meet with stakeholders. The role requires collaboration across multiple departments in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and may involve occasional travel throughout the assigned market.
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
