Financial Analyst

Location: Hybrid (Oakland, CA – 2 days onsite per week)
Pay Rate: $62/hr
Duration: Through 12/31/2026

About the Role

PG&E's Integrated Grid Planning (IGP) organization is seeking a Senior Portfolio Planning Investment Analyst to support the development of optimized multi-year electric investment plans. This role focuses on portfolio-level analysis, evaluating financial tradeoffs, supporting investment decision-making, and translating complex analytical outputs into clear, leadership-ready insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform portfolio-level analysis of capital investment plans, evaluating cost, risk, benefit, and funding tradeoffs
• Support development of multi-year investment scenarios under varying financial constraints
• Translate analytical and optimization outputs into actionable recommendations for leadership
• Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, reports, and analytical tools using Excel and Power BI
• Conduct scenario analysis, financial modeling, and investment prioritization assessments
• Partner with Finance, Engineering, Asset Management, and Planning teams to align assumptions and investment strategies
• Support executive reporting, governance reviews, and leadership presentations
• Perform data validation, QA/QC, and ensure auditability of portfolio reporting
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and reporting efficiencies

Required Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in financial analysis, capital planning, portfolio analysis, investment planning, or decision support
• Strong experience with Excel and Power BI
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and developing business insights
• Understanding of financial structures, investment tradeoffs, cost-benefit analysis, and portfolio prioritization
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
• Ability to create leadership-facing reports and executive presentations
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
