For Fort Wayne, IN the estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $116,000; for Armonk, NY the estimated base salary range is $74,000 to $123,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.

- Build and refine pricing models that help Swiss Re assess and manage life and health risk across global markets
- Test and validate mortality table updates to ensure accuracy and integrity in our actuarial assumptions
- Prepare and analyze mortality and lapse experience data, contributing to periodic experience studies that inform critical business decisions
- Support quarterly valuations and earnings analysis, gaining exposure to the financial reporting cycle of a leading global reinsurer
- Assist in maintaining reserve valuation systems, developing a deep understanding of the technical infrastructure that underpins actuarial work
- Engage with clients, reinsurance partners, regulators, and auditors, developing communication and relationship management skills alongside your technical expertise
- Explore less traditional actuarial work such as client management and business strategy, broadening your perspective on what actuaries can do
- Progress through Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams with the support of Swiss Re's structured exam program, including study time and financial support

- Actuarial exam progress — at least 1 Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam successfully passed (2 or more preferred)
- Exposure to programming languages such as Python or R, with a willingness to develop these skills further
- MS Excel proficiency — comfortable working with complex spreadsheets, data analysis, and financial modelling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Demonstrated curiosity and a growth mindset — someone who actively seeks out learning opportunities
