Essential Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections on finished products throughout the manufacturing process.
- Visually and physically inspect products for print quality, appearance, registration, dimensions, and other critical quality attributes.
- Collect product samples from production lines for laboratory testing.
- Conduct moisture testing using various testing methods and equipment.
- Perform UPC scan quality verification.
- Measure glue weights and other product specifications.
- Produce color standards and product samples.
- Perform coefficient of friction (COF) testing and other required laboratory analyses.
- Prepare handmade product samples for functional testing.
- Inspect incoming raw materials, including testing wetting tension, optical density, surface treatments, and adhesives.
- Complete required laboratory tests, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports.
- Enter and maintain documentation using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other computer systems.
- Communicate quality concerns, deviations, and safety issues to production operators and supervisors.
- Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Assist with raw material acceptance or rejection decisions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Learn new equipment, testing methods, and quality procedures as needed.
- Train backup Quality Technicians when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read a tape measure, including fractional measurements.
- Strong math, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Unrestricted color vision.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to push or pull up to 90 pounds during quality testing activities.
- Minimum of 2 years of quality assurance or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
- Candidates from automotive, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with quality systems such as SAP is a plus.
- Inspecting active food manufacturing production lines.
- Collecting and testing product samples using laboratory equipment.
- Recording quality measurements and documenting production issues.
- Working alongside experienced production and quality teams to maintain high product standards.
