Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

The R&D Engineer III will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, sales, vendors, and product management teams. Responsibilities include part design, 3D CAD modeling, component and material selection, qualification of new materials and components, assembly design, and engineering documentation. This role will support execution against the product roadmap established by product management to help drive growth and expansion of product lines through new product innovation, value engineering, sustaining engineering, and product improvement. Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and engineering designs.
• Select appropriate components and materials for product applications.
• Research and qualify new materials and components.
• Develop and support assembly designs.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation.
• Support execution of product roadmaps and new product development initiatives.
• Contribute to value engineering and product improvement projects.
• Provide sustaining engineering support for existing product lines.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve technical and production issues.
• Work with sourcing, vendors, sales, and product management to support product development objectives.
• Participate in engineering testing, evaluation, and qualification activities.
• Perform hands-on laboratory work as needed.
• Follow required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE during laboratory and hands-on activities.
