Role Overview
This is an execution-focused HR role providing operational support across payroll, recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, and HR operations.
Location: In office, Monday–Friday (7:00–4:00 or 8:00–5:00) –overtime may be required based on need ( although not expected)
Pay Rate: $40–$45/hour
Start Date: January 6, 2026
Duration: 3–6 months

- Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now (required), including payroll, recruiting, and performance management

- Communicates clearly and professionally with employees, managers, and external partners
- Comfortable stepping into an established role with little to no ramp-up time
Primary Functional Responsibilities
Payroll Processing (Expert Level)
- Independently manage full semimonthly and biweekly payroll processing cycles
- Perform pre- and post-payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies prior to submission
- Coordinate complex payroll transactions (bonuses, draws, retro pay, multi-state terminations)
- Partner with Finance and HR leadership on payroll timing and corrections
- Troubleshoot payroll system and vendor issues
- Maintain payroll documentation and audit trails
- (No payroll sign-off or payroll strategy ownership)
Onboarding & Offboarding (Proficient)
- Coordinate new hire onboarding logistics and schedules
- Prepare offer packets and onboarding checklists
- Ensure completion of compliance requirements (background checks, I-9s, drug screens)
- Process offboarding activities, including final pay coordination, benefits termination, COBRA triggers, and equipment recovery
- Maintain onboarding and offboarding documentation
Benefits Administration (Advanced)
- Enroll new hires in ADP and benefits systems
- Process qualifying life events
- Coordinate with benefits vendors and carriers
- Respond to routine employee benefits questions
- Escalate complex benefit issues to HR leadership or broker
- Maintain benefits eligibility trackers
- Review and reconcile benefits invoicing with the Finance team
Leave Administration (Proficient)
- Track basic leave requests (medical, parental, personal)
- Create and communicate documentation intake process
- Maintain leave calendars and trackers
- Support FMLA/ADA intake and administration (non-decision-making)
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases
- Update ADP as required
Full-Cycle Recruitment (Advanced)
- Partner with hiring managers to confirm role requirements and timelines
- Post and manage job requisitions, including coordination with third-party agencies
- Screen resumes and conducts initial candidate screenings
- Coordinate and schedule interviews
- Manage candidate communications throughout the hiring process
- Document offer preparation and approvals
- Coordinate pre-employment steps (background checks, start dates)
- Maintain recruiting trackers and ATS data
- Partner with leaders to plan onboarding schedules
HR Operations & Special Projects (Proficient)
- Provide admin and/or board level support to HR VP
- Support HR-led initiatives such as performance management cycles and special projects
- Prepare basic reports, documents, and presentations
- Track action items and follow-ups for HR and Safety meetings
- Support updates to organizational charts, employee handbook, and HR documentation
- Assist with system implementations or transitions
- Provide cross-functional coordination as needed
