We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement and supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, maintaining inventory levels, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring production needs are met through effective purchasing and planning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure materials and monitor inventory levels to support production schedules
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and sourcing initiatives
- Analyze material requirements, lead times, and costs to ensure supply continuity
- Oversee Kanban replenishment programs and daily purchasing reports
- Create and maintain supplier agreements, including Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve material and supplier issues
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Maintain part and supplier data within ERP systems
- Assist with engineering change orders (ECOs), supplier communications, and purchase order updates
- Monitor supplier performance, issue corrective actions when needed, and participate in supplier audits
- Support inventory audits, accounts payable reconciliation, and receiving issue resolution
- Generate supplier scorecards and performance reports
- Participate in safety initiatives and procurement process improvement efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, or a related field preferred
- 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- SAP or ERP system experience required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze bills of materials, costs, and lead times
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Supply chain certifications or related coursework are a plus
- Office-based role with occasional visits to the production floor
- Composite-toe or steel-toe safety shoes required for plant access
