Nature and Scope of Job:
The Transportation Interns provide maintenance and support in the daily maintenance of
school buses and other assigned vehicles. Daily tasks will include the use of tools and
equipment. The physical aspects will entail stooping and bending from a sitting or kneeling
position for 15-20mins at a time and the ability to work in confined areas such as under seats
and engine compartments. Interns will learn to assist will small bus repairs, further education
with training, perform mechanical maintenance of equipment, upholstery repairs, and routine
shop and yard maintenance. Interns must be able to juggle routine tasks while making decisions
using their knowledge and skills that are necessary to perform such duties and responsibilities
as assigned by the District Transportation Director or Fleet Manager
