What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Sweet B Cafe?
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Support other team members to ensure smooth workflow
- Provide excellent customer service and handle customer concerns professionally
- Maintain high standards of coffee quality, cleanliness, and food safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health, and safety regulations
- Every employee is cross-trained in the following areas and must be comfortable switching among them:
- Greeting customers, answering any questions, and taking orders
- Making drinks such as basic espresso drinks and our speciality drinks
- Prepping simple food items such as bagel sandwiches, paninis, and crepes
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, cafe, or food service environment required
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for coffee and customer service
- Basic understanding of cash handling and POS systems
Schedule
- Primarily looking to fill weekend shifts (Both Saturday and Sunday required)
- Opening/closing shifts as needed as early as 6:30 and as late as 3:30
Pay starts at $17 an hour plus tips which average from an extra $3-$9 per hour
