Position Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Production Artist & Assistant to support daily production workflow in a fast-paced fashion environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, hands-on production experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with both clients and factories.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Coordination & Sample Management
- Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, trims, and other development submissions
- Communicate daily with factories and clients via email regarding approvals, revisions, and production updates
- Track and follow up on order status, lab dips, strike-offs, and trims to ensure timeline accuracy
- Photograph all approvals and upload them into the company system
- Organize and maintain all samples, strike-offs, trims, and production materials in designated storage
- Maintain accurate tracking of all development stages and approvals
- Ensure all color and material approvals meet brand standards
- Proactively follow up with factories to avoid delays and production issues
2. Artwork & AWS (Art Working Sheet) Creation
- Create and update AWS (Art Working Sheets) for factory production
- Prepare production-ready vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator
- Clearly indicate print techniques, placements, construction details, and specifications
- Ensure all files sent to factories are accurate, clear, and production-ready
- Communicate design intent effectively to factories and internal teams
- Collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure smooth execution
3. Production Knowledge & Technical Understanding
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of garment construction, production flow, and manufacturing logic
- Understand how artwork, trims, and construction interact in real production
- Anticipate potential production issues and adjust artwork or instructions accordingly
- Ensure all design elements are feasible and aligned with production capabilities
Qualifications & Requirements
Must-Have
- Minimum 3 years experience in fashion production / apparel industry
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (AI is mandatory)
- Solid understanding of Pantone color system
- Experience with tech packs / AWS / production artwork
- Strong experience in factory communication and order tracking
- Excellent organizational skills (must be highly structured and detail-oriented)
- Strong understanding of garment construction and production processes
Preferred
- Experience working with overseas factories (Asia preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple production timelines simultaneously
- Familiar with trims, fabrics, and printing techniques
