The Loan Originator Assistant will work closely with Loan Originators, Sales, and other departments to ensure accurate and compliant loan processing. Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with Loan Originators and borrowers to collect and verify loan documentation.
- Review new loan application requests to ensure all necessary forms and disclosures are included.
- Prepare and distribute compliance disclosures following regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct credit checks, lien searches, and title searches for properties.
- Order appraisals, open title, and verify income, assets, and debts.
- Ensure all required loan conditions are met before closing.
- Organize and maintain closed packet files for efficient record-keeping.
- Manage installment payments and assist with borrower payment collection.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients regarding missing documentation or loan status.
- Handle borrower inquiries and assist with problem-solving.
- Work occasional weekends as needed.
- Perform additional tasks and projects assigned by management to support the overall operations.
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Bilingual in English & Spanish (Preferred)
- 1-2 years of experience in mortgage loan processing, underwriting, or quality control
- Knowledge of loan processing software (Calyx or Encompass preferred)
- Familiarity with hard money loans is a plus
- Strong attention to detail & organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong communication & problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
