Position Overview
SWAT Construction Inc. is seeking dependable and safety-focused Laborers / Spotters to support heavy civil and pipeline construction projects.
This position works directly with equipment operators, supervisors, and field crews to maintain safe and efficient jobsite operations. Responsibilities may include spotting equipment and vehicles, assisting with general construction activities, maintaining work areas, and supporting crews with day-to-day project needs.
This is a full-time, on-site position with travel to project locations required.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a spotter for heavy equipment, trucks, and other vehicles operating on the jobsite.
- Communicate clearly with equipment operators using hand signals, radios, and other approved communication methods.
- Maintain awareness of workers, equipment, utilities, structures, and other potential hazards.
- Assist equipment operators with safe positioning and movement of equipment.
- Perform general construction labor as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent.
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and other jobsite activities.
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with excavation, backfilling, grading, pipe work, concrete work, and other construction activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company and project-specific safety policies and procedures.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Communicate safety concerns and jobsite hazards to supervision.
- Assist other crew members and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous construction, pipeline, heavy civil, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience as a spotter or equipment ground guide is a plus.
- Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, trucks, and construction activities.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong awareness of surroundings and commitment to jobsite safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively with equipment operators and other crew members.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and carrying materials.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project locations as required.
- Must be willing to work the schedule required by the project.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
