Production Supervisor

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. In this role, the Production Supervisor will oversee daily operations to ensure production schedules and quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will effectively manage personnel and material resources, promote a culture of safety, and drive operational efficiency while maintaining cost control.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Team leadership and coordination: Guide and direct a team of production workers to achieve performance goals.
• Production management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring production schedules and output targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
• Assist the planning and inventory department in maintaining schedule and oversee material flow to and from Mexico to meet production needs.
• Oversee and supervise operations to include electronic and mechanical assembly, electrical test, quality control, packing and shipping.
• Training and development: Train, mentor, and develop staff, and onboard new production employees.
• Performance monitoring: Track team performance, monitor productivity, and prepare reports for management.
• Resource management: Control manpower and materials to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
• Safety and compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct safety inspections, and ensure the work environment is compliant with regulations.
• Process improvement: Collaborate with engineering and other departments to optimize workflow and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Must have some mechanical skills, electronic assembly and test knowledge, material and production flow abilities.
• Ability to supervise and train employees, to include prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems. Great Plains helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of ISO is helpful.
• Ability to travel to Tijuana Mexico and Otay Mesa for cross-training and support projects.
• Must possess a valid passport. Sentri or Global Entry is helpful.
  
  

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• Primarily works in a controlled indoor environment, with exposure to temperature variations and warehouse conditions.
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires walking, standing and handling objects.
• Job occasionally requires kneeling, stooping, forward bending, reaching, and talking. Some occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
• Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person; hear noises in surrounding areas, i.e., forklifts in the warehouse for safety purposes. Ability to tolerate loud noises from various manufacturing machines.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
