Carrier Manager – Americas

Reporting to: Senior Director, Cross-Border
Swap is building a serious cross-border function. This role is not a general logistics-management post. It is a commercially important carrier-management role responsible for improving carrier performance, strengthening commercial terms, and increasing the quality of cross-border support provided to the business.
The Carrier Manager – Americas will own Swap’s key carrier relationships across the US, Canada, and Australia, with direct responsibility for FedEx, DHL Express, DHL eCommerce, UPS, and selected regional partners. The role will lead carrier negotiations, service reviews, escalation management, and performance tracking across a growing international shipping footprint.

Key Responsibilities
- Own strategic and operational carrier relationships across the Americas portfolio
- Lead negotiations on rates, surcharges, service commitments, and contract terms
- Run quarterly business reviews and regular carrier-performance reviews
- Monitor service, transit, and cost performance across key lanes and merchants
- Lead major carrier escalations and drive corrective action
- Support Sales and Account Management on complex merchant opportunities
- Recommend routing, carrier, and commercial changes based on performance and economics
- Build disciplined internal reporting on carrier health and risk
- Work closely with Operations, Product, and Finance on carrier-linked issues and decisions
- 7–12 years in carrier management, parcel, cross-border logistics, or related fields
- Experience with FedEx, UPS, DHL, or comparable carrier and ecommerce infrastructure businesses
- Strong negotiation capability
- Strong analytical judgement
- Able to operate credibly with carriers, commercial teams, and senior leadership
