Medical Insurance Billing & Collections Specialist

Swansea Chiropractic is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Insurance Billing & Collections Specialist to help manage the insurance and financial side of patient care. This role is responsible for ensuring insurance claims are processed correctly, payments are collected in a timely manner, and patient accounts remain accurate.
Our office is a fast-paced chiropractic practice with a strong focus on patient experience, clear communication, and organized systems. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving insurance issues and keeping accounts running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims
- Review EOBs and post insurance payments accurately
- Investigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims
- Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility
- Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status
- Work with patients regarding account balances and payment arrangements
- Maintain accurate billing and collection records
- Coordinate with front desk and clinical staff to resolve billing questions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or collections
- Knowledge of insurance reimbursement processes
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and follow-up tasks
Preferred
- Experience working in a chiropractic or outpatient clinic
- Experience with EHR or medical billing software
