What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista Cashier position at Swank Creamery?
Job Type:
Part-time. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, takes initiative, and goes above and beyond to ensure each customer has a positive experience. Previous customer service experience is a must! We put a lot of time and effort into training, and we are looking for consistent team members who want to grow with the company.
Who we are:
Swank Creamery is a chef-driven, small-batch ice cream shop dedicated to creating an elevated dessert experience. We make all of our ice cream, inclusions, cookie doughs, and drink syrups from scratch using premium ingredients.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, has at least 1 year of customer service or relevant experience, and loves connecting with people. Must be comfortable up-selling and standing for long periods of time and working in a fast We will provide barista training, but previous barista experience or a basic understanding of espresso drinks is preferred.

The Job:
The FOH team is responsible for overall guest experience and duties include:
- Greeting customers with a happy and positive attitude as soon as they walk in the door
- Serving ice cream
- Operate register to complete customer transactions
- Ringing up orders/ neatly packaging dessert orders
- Making drinks (espresso and matcha)
- Guiding customers through the menu and helping them find something they like
- Helping with dishes
- Restocking ice cream case and dessert counter (following FIFO)
- Maintaining cleanliness of front counter, indoor/outdoor dining area, and restroom
- Checking product quality
- Learn and maintain knowledge of the menu
- Help put away deliveries
- Adhering to safety and health regulations
- Completing daily checklists
For PT must be available to work 2-3 shifts per week. Hours can be somewhat flexible, but must be available to work Saturdays. We have both opening and closing shifts available.
11am-4pm, 4pm-8:30pm, 3pm-9:30pm (on Saturdays)
Compensation:
Weekly pay (hourly) in addition to cash and credit card tips.*The pay listed does not include tips. No work on Sundays, Mondays, or Holidays. 1 week of PTO during the week we are closed for our annual Christmas break.
