Overview
Our West Ashley location is a fun, laid back job with great people, great regulars, and an opportunity for a flexible schedule that still allows you to have a life outside of work.
Starting pay is $13/hour plus tips which typically average out to 2 dollars hourly not including cash. Automatic 50 cent raise yearly with potential for more based on performance.
Typical shifts are 5:30am-1:00pm, 7:00am-3:00pm, and 1:00pm-8:30pm. We open 1 hour later on Sundays. We are looking for someone willing to work closing and weekend shifts.
As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve not only preparing coffee and other drinks but also creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring all sales are processed efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the coffee station, dining area, and equipment.
- Assist with food preparation and handling, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Utilize POS systems (including Aloha POS) for order processing and inventory management.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a barista or food service role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills to handle transactions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage recipes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety in accordance with regulations.
