What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Advocate - SWAN Shelter in Olney position at SWAN?
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must demonstrate initiative, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, including word composition skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of current automobile insurance, and be able to lift 25 pounds.
This is a full-time position - 40 hours per week with a work week of Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 8 pm to 4 am (Tuesday & Wednesday Off). Overtime hours may be available. The Client Advocate is responsible for carrying out individual and group services with adults and children as directed by the Case Workers and Shelter Supervisor. Must complete intakes and documentation in client files in a timely manner. Is also responsible for completing housekeeping tasks at the Shelter.

Background Checks: Employment is contingent on successful background checks through DCFS and the Illinois State Police. Must complete 40 hours of domestic violence training and answer the SWAN 24/7 domestic violence hotline.
