What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Protective Services Caseworker - Olney position at SWAN?
Qualifications: College degree required as approved by the Illinois Department on Aging. Must be competent in Microsoft Office and possess good word composition skills. Must demonstrate initiative, excellent communication skills, and interpersonal abilities. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of current auto insurance, the ability to conduct visits in homes that can be difficult to maneuver, be able to stand for an extended period, and be able to lift 25 lbs.
This is a full-time position- 40 hours per week - 8 am to 4 pm Monday -Friday. The Adult Protective Services Caseworker must complete training through the Illinois Department on Aging as well as complete 40 hours of Domestic Violence Training. Employment is contingent on successful background checks through the Illinois State Police and the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS).
Successful candidates must have good word composition skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and be able to complete all case notes/documentation in a web-based program with the Illinois Department on Aging and sign a strict Adult Protective Services Code of Ethics.
Benefits: SWAN has 9 paid holidays, paid leave hours after 90 days of employment, vacation after 1 year of employment, and sick time accrual. SWAN currently offers employer paid dental insurance, low-cost health insurance, payroll deductions for vision insurance and the opportunity for a retirement plan. In addition, employees of SWAN may make payroll deductions insurances such as life insurance during open enrollment periods. The pay range is $18-$20 per hour depending on education and experience. Once training is complete there are opportunities for bonuses. Caseworkers are reimbursed monthly for mileage incurred on-the-job at the current IRS rate.
