Child Case Worker in the SWAN Olney Shelter
Qualifications: College degree or equivalent work and education with child-oriented and child-friendly intervention approaches. Knowledge of normal child development stages and tasks is essential. Previous experience working with children is preferred. Must be competent in Microsoft Office, possess good word composition skills, demonstrated initiative, have interpersonal skills, and be an excellent communicator. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance, and be able to lift 25 pounds.
This is a full-time position - 40 hours per week with a work week of Tuesday through Saturday 12 pm (noon) to 8 pm. Overtime hours may be available. The Child Case Worker is responsible for the operation of the children’s program for residents of SWAN’s emergency shelter. This person is responsible for developing and implementing a program that addresses the needs of all children with their parents in the shelter as well as providing direct client services.

Background Checks: Employment is contingent on successful background checks through DCFS and the Illinois State Police.
