Position Overview
Swampscott Public Schools is seeking an exceptional Grade 5 Teacher to join our dedicated community of learners and leaders. Essential Functions
Instructional Leadership & Data-Driven Practice
- Rigorous Curriculum: Design and execute rigorous, standards-based units that leverage formative assessment and differentiation to meet the needs of every learner.
- Pedagogical Excellence: Utilize varied techniques to challenge and motivate students, ensuring equitable participation and the application of prior knowledge to new content.
- Data Analysis: Frequently review assessments to pinpoint learning gaps and mastery levels; design and adjust dynamic small groups based on real-time student data.
- Tiered Instruction: Create tiered lessons to challenge advanced learners and provide targeted support for those needing intervention.
- Critical Feedback: Provide immediate, analytical feedback that encourages students to think critically and take ownership of their academic journey.

- Inclusive Environment: Maintain a safe, organized learning environment rooted in mutual respect, student choice, and collaborative inquiry.

Job Requirements
- Licensure: Current Massachusetts Elementary Certification (Grades 1-6).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- SEI Endorsement: Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement required.
- Experience: Three (3) years of classroom teaching experience is preferred.
- Compliance: Successful completion of a Massachusetts CORI and fingerprint-based national criminal background check.
