Position Overview:
The Manager Quality and Continuous Improvement is responsible for leading the quality function across the organization to ensure compliance with Swagelok Quality System for Distributors (SQS-D), and customer expectations. This individual will be instrumental in promoting a culture of continuous improvement, driving operational excellence, and maintaining robust quality systems and processes. The ideal candidate will serve as the liaison between internal teams, Swagelok corporate, registration bodies, and customers regarding all quality-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quality assurance across the organization, ensuring systems are understood, implemented, and maintained by all departments.
- Lead and manage the non-conforming product process, including incidents, recalls, and rejected product investigations.
- Coordinate all product return and product evaluation activities, ensuring proper root cause analysis and resolution.
- Act as liaison with Swagelok corporate, external registration bodies, and customers regarding audits, compliance, and quality issues.
- Host and manage external audits including registration and customer audits; ensure audit readiness and effective closure of findings.
- Conduct internal ISO and SQS-D audits and manage the internal audit program.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across functions using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, Kaizen, etc.).
- Lead monthly quality team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive awareness and accountability.
- Facilitate Management Review and Planning Meetings to track and report progress on quality objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain quality procedures, standards, and control documentation to ensure compliance and operational consistency.
- Promote and champion a culture of quality excellence and performance improvement across the SSC.
- Support corrective and preventive action processes, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
- Perform routine inspections and quality checks to ensure standards are being met.
Experience Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 – 8 years of progressive experience in quality management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification required.
Skill Requirements:
- Proven experience hosting and responding to external audits.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, 8D, FMEA).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Office and warehouse environment; occasional travel may be required.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during audits and inspections.
Travel:
Occasional travel of up to 10% may be required throughout the year.
This is a hybrid position, 4 days in office and 1 day remote after successful completion of introductory period.
Salary Range:
$123,000 - $135,000
We provide salary ranges in all job postings in accordance with Massachusetts pay transparency guidelines. Actual pay will be determined by skills, experience, and qualifications.
