WHAT YOU WILL DO
DEPARTMENT LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT
- Lead and manage the Accounting Department
- Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, and staff development
- Develop succession planning and cross-training initiatives
FINANCIAL REPORTING & ACCOUNTING OVERSIGHT
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annal close processes
- Review/approve/Post journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Enhance financial reporting processes and ensure data integrity across systems
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
TREASURY, TAX, & STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
- Partner with CFO to oversee cash management, banking relationships, audits, and tax compliance
- Support contract and subcontract financial reviews and risk assessments
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve margins and operational efficiency
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & SYSTEMS
- Collaborate with various departments to address accounting and operational tasks
- Identify areas within the department to increase efficiency and/or streamline process and implement solutions
- Support the Accounting department with other tasks and projects as business requires
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CPA, OR CFA a plus.
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience leading or mentoring a team across multiple accounting disciplines
- Familiarity with construction finance concepts: WIP reporting, job costing, backlog analysis.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems skills: ERP experience (Viewpoint) preferred.
- Experience in banking, bonding, and insurance compliance for construction firms preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-state tax and S-Corp shareholder requirements preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
- Well organized with strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines consistently required.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and confidential information with discretion required.
- Willingness to submit to a comprehensive background check required.
COMPENSATION & COMPANY BENEFITS INCLUDE
This is a full-time, exempt position. The compensation for this role is $200,000-$250,000 annually and is based on experience and skillset.
