Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on MongoDB Subject Matter Expert to design, implement, configure, and support MongoDB environments across three geographically distributed sites using Pure Storage FlashArray. This role serves as the technical authority, ensuring robust architecture, high availability, optimal performance, and production readiness for both new and existing platforms, in line with enterprise standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- MongoDB Expertise: Deep experience with MongoDB Enterprise and Community editions, including replica sets, sharding, WiredTiger tuning, schema design, security (TLS, RBAC), and end-to-end backup, recovery, and upgrade processes.
- Multi-Site Architecture: Proven experience with active/active and active/passive setups, disaster recovery planning, failover strategies, and failure domain design.
- Linux Systems: Strong tuning and optimization skills on RHEL, Rocky Linux, or Oracle Linux (NUMA, ulimits, XFS) for MongoDB workloads.
- Storage Integration: Expertise in block storage architecture, I/O isolation, snapshot usage, and performance troubleshooting with Pure Storage FlashArray.
- Automation & Monitoring: Proficiency with MongoDB CLI, scripting (Bash/Python), and monitoring/alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and MongoDB Ops Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and optimize MongoDB architecture and design
- Support deployments, upgrades, and platform enhancements
- Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting across application, database, OS, and storage layers
- Act as a senior escalation point for production issues
- Validate disaster recovery and failover readiness
Deliver operational documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions
