What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transloader (CDL Preferred) position at Sutton Trucking LLC?
Sutton Trucking LLC is looking for a motivated and dependable general labor/transloader employee to add to our team. This position is located at our transloading facility in northwest Portland.
Laborer Job Responsibilities:
Performs various physical duties as assigned.Maintain all safety standards.
Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment.
Moves items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor.
Moving tools, equipment, or other material as directed in plans or by supervisor.
Typical day at our facility requires employees to be outside all day in all weather conditions. Must pay attention to detail when loading and unloading products from rail cars. Must be able to work in dusty, noisy environments as we work with products such as pebble lime, soda Ash and consistently near loud machinery. When we are not busy loading, we like to keep our work environment tidy and safe by washing scales, painting, greasing bearings, checking belts, parking and washing yard trucks. Driving loader, climbing up and down ladders to gain access to top of trailers and tending to all other mechanical maintenance that is required. We start the shift at 5:30am and end when the job is finished! We work Mon-Fri and most Saturdays. Being on time and good attendance is extremely important. A Class A CDL is not required, but it is definitely a plus!
Laborer Qualifications/Skills:
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to keep up with physical demands of the job.
