The Stanford Medicine Sutter Health Cancer Center (SMSHCC) is a groundbreaking joint venture between Stanford Medicine and Sutter Health, bringing together leading academic medicine, advanced research, and high-quality community-based cancer care in the East Bay. As we prepare for activation and ongoing operations, we are seeking a Patient Access Manager to lead and integrate critical front-end access functions across the cancer center.The Patient Access Manager will be responsible for overseeing scheduling, registration and check-in, prior authorization, financial navigation, and new patient coordination, ensuring seamless, timely, and patient-centered access to care. This role plays a key leadership position in optimizing the patient experience while supporting provider productivity, operational efficiency, and volume growth.
This position requires close collaboration with clinical leaders, revenue cycle partners, and operational teams across both Stanford Medicine and Sutter Health. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in oncology or specialty care access, a systems mindset, and the ability to lead teams through complexity and change in a highly visible, mission-driven environment.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's: Business Administration, Healthcare or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
8 years of recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of third-party regulations and requirements, managed care concepts, and current practices.
Familiarity with Federal/State and JCAHO requirements for registration.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as having verbal and written communication skills.
Leadership skills, including team building, coaching/mentoring, with the ability to motivate and engage others.
Demonstrates tactical and analytical thinking and planning skills, and is able to develop a plan to accomplish objectives, identify obstacles, and resolve operational issues.
Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service and achieving business results.

Pay Range is $107,785.60 to $161,678.40 / annual salaryThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
