Organization: CPMC-California Pacific Med Center Davies Position Overview: Under general supervision, the Cook prepares appropriate amount of high quality food for patients, staff, and customers in accordance with established recipes, menus, procedures, schedules and standards. Performs all responsibilities demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, staff and customers. Job Description: EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: SS-ServSafe required at hire or, if hired before 01/01/2026, within 120 days of 01/01/2026 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: Experience as a cook as typically obtained in five years. Experience in a large volume food production kitchen as typically obtained in five years. Hotel / restaurant background. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of applied principles of nutrition relating to food preparation and service. Knowledge of proper sanitation and food temperature control. Able to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to forty pounds. Must be able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently in order to follow written and verbal instructions. Must have interpersonal skills to communicate well with fellow food production/service and management personnel, supervisory staff, and customers.
