Finance & Accounting Director
Job Purpose:
The Finance & Accounting Director reports to the Vice President of Operations and works collaboratively with ownership to advance and execute the company’s financial goals. This role is responsible for overseeing and leading the Accounting Department, implementing global budgets, achieving financial objectives, and establishing best practices for budget review and reconciliation.
The Finance & Accounting Director will train and work closely with portfolio staff to ensure budgets are reconciled monthly and adjustments are made as needed. They will also partner with ownership to identify growth opportunities through financial analysis and forecasting. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director will work collaboratively with senior leaders to execute company initiatives, goals, and directives.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Finance & Accounting Director is required to fulfill the duties outlined in the Senior Management Job Description addendum.
Job Duties:
Senior Management:
- Implement company goals and values.
- Collaborate with senior managers and enforce company policies.
- Follow and support the chain of command.
- Support and implement company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Promote a positive company culture.
Leadership:
- Complete and follow directives from ownership and the Vice President of Operations.
- Manage and oversee the Accounting Department (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payment processing, bad debt, vendor payments, etc.).
- Follow and enforce finance and accounting standard operating procedures.
- Provide training to staff on budget implementation and reconciliation.
Finance:
- Manage global financial operations and performance.
- Oversee income and expense reporting, including monthly reviews with ownership.
- Create financial reports and present findings to ownership and the Senior Management Team.
- Lead and facilitate quarterly financial reporting meetings.
- Generate, review, and evaluate financial proformas.
- Develop and assess financial models for future projects and acquisitions.
- Review and evaluate the sale or acquisition of properties, including financial performance, returns, and budgets.
- Oversee cost control and value engineering for new development projects.
Budgets:
- Produce and monitor global and portfolio budgets.
- Manage, implement, and audit capital improvement budgets.
- Conduct budget audits across all departments.
Commercial CAM & Tenant Improvements:
- Produce and manage CAM budgets.
- Monitor and reconcile CAM budgets.
- Produce and manage Tenant Improvement budgets.
- Oversee, audit, and monitor CAM budgets across the portfolio.
Supervision & Oversight:
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to the Finance and Accounting team.
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
