Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards
- Develop and innovate menu items to keep offerings fresh and exciting
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring compliance with food safety protocols
- Handle all food preparation tasks including cutting, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients
- Manage inventory levels of seafood, rice, nori, and other sushi ingredients, placing orders as needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during service hours
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and food handling practices at all times
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff or apprentices as needed
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation
- Exceptional knife skills and precision in food handling and cutting techniques
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
- Experience in menu planning and creating innovative sushi dishes
