We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and related dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering an outstanding dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards
  • Develop and innovate menu items to keep offerings fresh and exciting
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring compliance with food safety protocols
  • Handle all food preparation tasks including cutting, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients
  • Manage inventory levels of seafood, rice, nori, and other sushi ingredients, placing orders as needed
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during service hours
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene and food handling practices at all times
  • Assist in training junior kitchen staff or apprentices as needed

Skills

  • Extensive culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation
  • Exceptional knife skills and precision in food handling and cutting techniques
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
  • Experience in menu planning and creating innovative sushi dishes
  • Background in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of food industry standards related to catering, food service, and meal preparation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
