Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and service-driven Lead Host / Hostess to join our team. This role is responsible for leading the host team and ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and seamless dining experience from arrival to departure.
Reporting to the Manager, this position combines leadership, guest relations, and operational excellence in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and mentor the host team to deliver exceptional hospitality
- Manage reservations and guest flow using Resy (or similar platform)
- Greet and seat guests while maintaining strong awareness of dining room pacing
- Anticipate guest needs and accommodate special requests whenever possible
- Maintain clear communication with management and front-of-house staff
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and ongoing training for host staff
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns promptly and professionally
- Ensure adherence to all service standards, policies, and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the host stand and dining room
- Support administrative duties including guest notes, reporting, and scheduling input
- Assist with disciplinary documentation and communication with management/HR
- Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Fine dining experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and organization
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong guest service mindset with a passion for hospitality
- Experience with reservation systems (Resy preferred)
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
