SurvTech Solutions is seeking an Experienced Survey Technician who is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about working in the field. This individual will lead a field crew to perform boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction layout surveys. You’ll oversee daily field operations, ensure data accuracy, manage crew safety, and maintain communication with project managers and clients.
This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives outdoors, enjoys problem-solving, and values teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage field survey crews in various environments and conditions.
- Perform boundary, topographic, control, and construction layout surveys.
- Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and digital levels with precision.
- Ensure all field data meets company standards and project specifications.
- Download, organize, and verify field data before submission to the office.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and needs with management.
- Train and mentor junior survey technicians and instrument operators.
- Maintain all assigned survey equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications
- 5 years of land surveying experience, with at least 2 years as a Party Chief preferred.
- Proficiency with Trimble or Leica GPS and robotic systems.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or related software.
- Strong understanding of survey principles, coordinate systems, and field safety.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Experience
- Construction layout and DOT project experience.
- Hydrographic, LiDAR, or UAV surveying experience.
- LSIT or SIT certification (or working toward licensure).
