Job Summary
This role builds and leads the Survitec’s data analytics capability whilst driving alignment and generating synergies across existing data capabilities of business intelligence and master data management acting as a center of excellence. It works with a range of business leaders and specialists to develop the methods, KPI’s, processes and applications to ensure appropriate access to and consistent use of data and analytics, within relevant regulatory, legal and ethical mandates.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Works with senior business representatives and the executive team to establish a vision for data as a business asset and supports with the design and interpretation of analytics
- Responsible for selecting and maintaining an appropriate analytics technology stack to leverage best-in-class tools for visualization whilst leveraging existing data assets where possible
- Delivers robust, actionable, insightful analysis for the most critical topics in the business. This may include market detail, sales performance, realised pricing- discount levels, growth over time, and margin at the most granular level, supply chain performance metrics, financial performance and operational performance tracking and optimisation
- Sets the direction for the analytics toolkit used within the business so that the company has access to a powerful and cost-effective set of tools
- Owns the business case for new tools and datasets to the business, works with procurement and other IT Teams to deploy
- Builds and maintains a set of business definitions for key metrics, coordinating with all business functions to ensure these are agreed and understood
- Develops business understanding of the importance of good data and analytics as the foundation for decision making, process and control; ensures appropriate audit controls are identified and implemented for all core data assets, ensuring data is reliable, traceable, timely, available, secure and consistent
- Defines and delivers the roadmap for improving data and analytics quality, availability, consistency and accuracy; develops and manages key improvement initiatives to time, quality and budget
- Ensures that business systems generate high quality data that can be used for analysis via the Mater Data Management team and by working with business transformation and operational teams to change systems and processes
- Collaborates with functional teams across the business to make change happen
- Steers the development of new analysis by acting as a thought leader, typically by collaborating with business owners on their most important problems and reviewing the work of more junior members of the team
- Dives “into the weeds” of analysis and get hands-on to enable the development of analysis, either to help navigate roadblocks the team may face or to add bandwidth to the team
- Builds strong working relationships with subject matter experts across the business
- Coordinates change regarding data definitions
- Coordinates queries from various stakeholders across the business such that existing analysis and data from other areas are leveraged and we act in a coordinated manner across teams
- Enables members of the team to take responsibility for subject areas such that stakeholders across the business treat them as the first point of contact as appropriate
- Maintains the project pipeline for the team, prioritising as necessary based on the business’s objectives
- Identifies the capabilities needed to meet current and emerging business needs; evaluates current capabilities, identifies gaps and prioritises development activities. Motivates others to develop their capabilities and fulfil their personal potential. Builds capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods

Experience And Qualification
Educated to University degree, related degree preferred
- 10 – 15 years of comprehensive job-related experience, demonstrating expertise to fully competent level
