Job Summary:
The Operations Service Specialist ensures operational excellence by supporting both internal teams and external customers. This role focuses on managing carrier information, maintaining accuracy in our Transportation Management System (TMS), tracking and tracing shipments, scheduling appointments, and communicating proactively to ensure on-time departures and deliveries.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build loads and schedule appointments to ensure successful execution
- Book loads and quote customers as needed
- Track and trace all shipments to guarantee accurate, timely delivery
- Initiate check calls with drivers for all pickups and deliveries
- Communicate with drivers to ensure on-time service for all shipments
- Monitor freight via multiple platforms to anticipate delays and inform customers proactively
- Collaborate with account management and sales teams to resolve service issues efficiently
- Support internal account management functions, including communication, pricing, and problem-solving
Qualifications & Competencies:
- 1–3 years’ experience in an office environment using computers and phones
- Self-motivated problem solver with a strong commitment to customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to proactively communicate across internal departments
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Drive, and various business systems
- “Can-do” attitude with a strong work ethic
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
