Role Description

  • Surplus Breakers & Motor Control, Inc. is looking for a full-time on-site operations assistant in the San Marcos, CA area to assist and help improve operational processes to ensure daily objectives are met. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a winning team with a nationwide customer base within the electrical wholesale industry where you will learn and refine your skills in the multiple facets of day to day operations. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards of professionalism with excellent communications skills and strong desire to help and improve internal operational processes to ensure efficient workflows and to provide excellent customer service to provide customers with the best experience possible. A positive attitude is a must along with being comfortable collaborating closely with rest of team in the office and warehouse, working with channels partners, making & receiving calls and sending & receiving emails to enhance operational, logistics and supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction. Being receptive to feedback with a strong ability to take accountability and initiative to prioritize daily tasks assigned by management will help ensure your success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Work alongside rest of team to provide customer service and manage customer expectations by ensuring commitments are met.
  • Send emails, answer the phone, draft messages and answer customer and vendor inquiries.
  • Prepare and provide quotes and order acknowledgments.
  • Coordinate operational tasks such as paperwork and duties with other employees.
  • Coordinate material, paperwork, and packages between office and warehouse.
  • Review and verify packages and correct material is received and that all paperwork for products and outgoing shipments is correct.
  • Check on pending orders along with tracking information and follow up and send messages to suppliers to ensure procured material arrives safe and on time.
  • Create freight shipments, shipping labels and send tracking numbers as needed.
  • Create purchase orders, sales orders, invoices and statements as needed.
  • Send line cards and assist in marketing campaigns and bookkeeping duties as needed.

  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, vendors, and customers
  • Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset
  • Culture is key - Positive, selfless attitude is a must.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task and be reliable.
  • Proficient with corporate productivity and manage time effectively with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient at retaining and implementing given instructions and taking notes.
  • Being receptive to feedback with a strong ability to take accountability and initiative.
