About the Opportunity
A publicly traded alternative investment platform with approximately $20B in assets under management is seeking a senior Investor Relations / Business Development professional to help drive capital formation and strengthen relationships with institutional investors.
The firm manages a diversified platform of alternative investment strategies and is known for its strong presence in the Business Development Company (BDC) market as well as broader private credit and alternative strategies.
This individual will play a highly visible role across capital raising, investor communication, and institutional relationship management, working closely with executive leadership, investor relations, and distribution teams.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the institutional capital ecosystem, has deep relationships across the allocator community, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The Role
The Investor Relations / Business Development leader will focus on building and managing institutional investor relationships while supporting capital formation across the firm’s alternative investment strategies.
This role sits at the intersection of investor relations, distribution, and strategic partnerships, acting as a key voice with institutional allocators and supporting communication with public market stakeholders.
The position will also play an important role supporting the firm’s Business Development Company (BDC) platform, including contributing to investor communications and earnings-related messaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with institutional investors, including pension funds, family offices, insurance companies, endowments, and other large allocators of capital.
- Drive capital raising efforts across the firm’s alternative investment funds and strategies.
- Serve as a key point of coordination for BDC investor communications, including support for quarterly earnings scripts and investor messaging.
- Partner closely with the Broker-Dealer and Sales teams to expand distribution channels and deepen institutional relationships.
- Represent the firm in institutional meetings, investor conferences, and industry events.
- Translate complex investment strategies into clear and compelling narratives for sophisticated investors.
- Support the development of investor presentations, materials, and capital raising strategies.
- Maintain ongoing dialogue with institutional allocators regarding portfolio strategy, market outlook, and investment performance.

Ideal Background
- 10 years of experience in Investor Relations, Capital Raising, or Institutional Business Development within alternative investments.
- Strong understanding of private credit, BDCs, and alternative investment structures.
- Experience raising capital from institutional allocators.
- Existing relationships across pension funds, family offices, insurance platforms, and institutional investors.
- Ability to operate comfortably with public market investor communications.
- Background working with broker-dealer distribution teams and institutional sales channels.

Compensation
- Base Salary: $250,000
