Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Salon Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced salon environment, supporting stylists and ensuring exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the beauty industry, strong communication skills, and a desire to develop their skills in hair styling, retail sales, and customer service.
Duties
- Assist stylists with hair extensions, mixing color, shampooing clients with hand massage, help with combing clients out,
- Manage front desk responsibilities including catering to the client needs (making them complimentary cocktails, coffee and snacks)and client pre booking and check out.
- Operate salon software such as Boulevard for bookings and client records, canva for social media posting, Google sheets & docs for communication
- Maintain salon sanitation standards and ensure a clean, safe environment
- Support store management with inventory tracking and retail sales upselling
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs and inquiries
- Assist with store management tasks and mentoring new team members
- Perform hair treatments, color theory consultations, and basic hair styling support as needed
- Help with retail math to optimize product sales and upselling opportunities
Skills
- Knowledge how to shampoo & interst in cosmatology school or actively in cosmatology school
- Experience with social media & taking pictures
- Strong communication skills for effective client interactions and team collaboration
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols in a salon setting
- Retail sales experience with upselling techniques and retail math proficiency
- Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
