Job Summary
The Surgery Center of Lakeland Hills Boulevard is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. We are a AAAHC-accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center specializing in Gastroenterology and Pain Management procedures.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who thrives in a an outpatient surgical environment and possess a strong foundation in patient assessment and is committed to providing exceptional patient care. The LPN will work under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) while providing safe, efficient, and compassionate care to our patients.
Duties
- Prepare patients for surgical and endoscopic procedures in the pre-operative area.
- Proficiently start and maintain peripheral IVs
- Recover and monitor patients following procedures.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall condition.
- Assist physicians, anesthesia providers, and Registered Nurses during patient care.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education.
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Follow all AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification to practice.
- Previous experience in Pre-Op and/or PACU (Recovery Room) is preferred.
- Current BLS certification (required).
- Current ACLS certification (required).
- Demonstrated proficiency in IV insertion and venipuncture (required).
- Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, Endoscopy Center, Gastroenterology, or Pain Management is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced outpatient surgery setting.
- Basic computer and EMR experience.
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
