Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, operating forklifts, and supporting overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate has experience in shipping/receiving, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Operate forklift and other material handling equipment
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments
- Prepare and package outgoing orders accurately
- Read and use measuring tools (tape measures, scales, etc.)
- Perform basic carpentry tasks using hand and power tools as needed
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records
- Keep warehouse clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience & Skills:
- Ability to learn quickly through hands-on training
- Forklift experience required (certification is a plus)
- 1–2 years of shipping and receiving experience preferred
- Ability to accurately read measuring tools
- Strong carpentry and basic tool experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
Education & Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights, and measurements)
- Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
