Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Circlieville, OH
Position Summary
The Quality Engineer plays a key role in supporting quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), including certification to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
The role partners closely with internal teams and suppliers to meet customer quality expectations, reduce scrap and rework, and support overall production requirements. The Quality Engineer also provides guidance to leadership on the interpretation and implementation of quality policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards
- Coordinate and support certification and audit activities (internal and external)
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives and root cause analysis
- Validate supplier quality through control plans, inspection criteria, and sampling methods
- Develop and implement quality system improvements aligned with business objectives
- Monitor and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
- Support customer and supplier quality requirements and expectations
- Develop and maintain key quality documentation, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Process Capability Studies
- Assist in reducing scrap, rework, and overall quality-related costs
- Provide guidance to managers and teams on quality standards, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of quality experience within automotive manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Hands-on experience with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001 standards
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, and customer-specific requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
