Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support the design, construction, and start-up of electrical systems for complex research, development, and production facilities. This role partners with clients and project teams to deliver solutions that meet project budgets, schedules, design criteria, and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong industrial electrical design experience, a collaborative approach, and the ability to manage multiple projects from design through installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design and project execution, ensuring alignment with client needs, budgets, schedules, and project specifications.
• Perform engineering calculations to support power and control system design.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, coordinators, manufacturing teams, clients, and suppliers.
• Apply National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable NFPA requirements throughout design and execution.
• Plan equipment installation and start-up requirements.
• Support equipment installation supervision and commissioning at client facilities.
• Manage competing project priorities and respond effectively to changes in deadlines, scope, and design.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and communicate project requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
• Travel to customer facilities for design meetings, installation support, and commissioning, including overnight stays.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least five years of industrial electrical systems design experience with a consulting engineering firm or design/build electrical contractor.
• Demonstrated engineering knowledge in at least five of the following areas: power systems, AC drives, lighting, gas detection, fire alarm systems, lighting controls, and lightning protection systems.
• Experience performing engineering calculations for power and control systems.
• Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes.
• Proficiency with Revit, SKM Power Tools, and lighting calculation software.
• Understanding of equipment installation and start-up requirements.
• Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and client service skills.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams, take initiative, and manage multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with power regeneration, medium-voltage systems, and facility energy reduction.
