What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Processing Worker position at SURGE Staffing?
Production Team Member
Employees will perform general production duties in a food manufacturing environment while following strict quality and production standards. Typical responsibilities may include arranging bacon, pressing pork bellies, hand packing products on an assembly line, stacking finished cases, and rotating between work assignments.
New hires should expect to complete initial training during the week. After training, employees will be expected to work up to 60 hours per week, including weekends on 2nd shift.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to stand for the duration of a 10.5-hour shift, excluding designated break times
- Ability to work in refrigerated temperatures throughout the shift
- Ability to work full-time hours and overtime as needed
- Ability to work weekends and 2nd shift schedules
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Working Conditions
The work environment is refrigerated. Required PPE includes hearing protection, lab coat, eye protection, hard hat, slip-resistant shoes, cotton gloves, and green gloves. Floors and work areas may be wet or slippery.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of stable work history preferred
- Previous manufacturing or food production experience preferred
