Job Overview
Surfside Realty Company is seeking a highly accomplished, results-driven Director of Accounting to lead and elevate all financial operations across our real estate sales, homeowner association management, vacation rental divisions, and pool retail, repair and maintenance services. This executive leadership position plays a critical role in driving financial performance, strengthening internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering strategic insights that directly influence company growth and profitability.
The Director of Accounting will oversee all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting and compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, payroll, tax compliance, audits, general ledger management, and financial analysis while leading a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with exceptional leadership skills, a strong background in real estate or property management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master's preferred)
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or vacation rentals
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and tax compliance
- Must have experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI, or similar, as well as other other software programs related to vacation rentals and association management
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
