What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler position at Surad Interpreting & Translation Co.?
SUMMARY:
Surad Interpreting and Translation Company (Surad) is currently seeking a Scheduler to coordinate appointments for interpreters/translators and providers. This position is part-time, or 20 hours a week. The main duties are scheduling and planning weekly contractor schedules, figuring out appointment lengths, and making reminder phone calls to contractors about their upcoming assignments.
RESPONSBSUBILTIES:
- Answer phone calls and e-mails, greeting interpreters and prospective interpreters, and reminding them of upcoming appointments.
- Schedule appointments and manage schedules between interpreters and providers.
- Liaise and coordinate with health care providers schedules, patients, and any changes to the interpreter’s schedule.
- Answer interpreter / provider phone calls about their schedules.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur, including gathering and collecting interpreter forms and other basic bookkeeping duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- 2-3 years of office experience
- MS Excel, Outlook skills, as well as other computer skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Clerical or Administrative experience a plus
- Knowledge of health care terminology is helpful.
- Results -oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate interpreting services in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion.
- Active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
- Excellent organizational skills are necessary, along with a proven desire to learn.
