We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Colon & Rectal Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients while scheduling office visits, procedures, and surgeries. You will play a key role in creating a positive patient experience and supporting the overall success of our practice.
- Hourly Range: $20.00 - $23.00, based on years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule Colon & Rectal clinic visits, procedures, and surgeries for Colon & Rectal Surgery physicians
- Obtain prior-authorizations from insurance companies for pending surgeries
- Maintain the Colon & Rectal registry and patient follow-up systems
- Contact patients to confirm outpatient procedure appointments for assigned providers
- Communicate with patients and outpatient facility contacts
- Answer incoming phone calls and follow up on voicemail messages
- Complete prep instructions, prepare mailings, and send prep materials as requested
- Provide back up support to Front Desk and Scheduling Departments as needed
- Comply with policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment and adhere to OSHA standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirement & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-2 years of medical appointment scheduling experience (surgery scheduling preferred)
- Experience with insurance processes, including prior authorizations preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to details, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated initiative, organization, and sound judgement
