What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at SUR-SEAL LLC?
SUMMARY
Primarily coordinates all out bound shipping and inventory control of shipping supplies by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Performs other related duties as assigned.
All out bound shipments and documents needed for preparing finished goods for processing for both domestic and international.
Ability to enter into Epicor the correct information to ship orders to the right place and at the proper service level.
Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers for both domestic and international.
Must be capable of classifying freight and getting the correct weight to calculate the cost of shipping.
Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Shipping Lead.
Maintain a clean, safe and productive work area.
Qualifications:EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
High School Diploma.
At least 1 year in a manufacturing environment.
Required to read and write English and use simple math.
Experience with an ERP, Epicor or an SAP system
Experience with International and Domestic shipments, LTL and small package (DHL)
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
