Summary/Objective

The Business Development Coordinator will work to support and grow new and existing business. The role is primarily responsible for providing focused support for new business and managing the new business process. This role includes managing projects that originate from customers, outside sales, customer service or key suppliers.  A critical objective is to supply accurate and timely competitive profitable quotes of new parts to customers.  It is expected that the individual will closely coordinate internal projects to determine and sustain profitability, growth and decline of business at a part-number level.

  • Collaborate with the Account Executive to lead and drive technical sales and solutions for customer applications which will include the timely and accurate provision of price and lead-time quotations, material recommendations, samples, and material data sheets.
  • Collaborate with customers’ Sourcing Leaders, striving to up sell and cross sell
  • Collaborate with customers’ Engineering Teams to define and develop winning solutions that meet customer requirements including design, quality, delivery terms, and pricing
  • Collaborate with supplier teams to support any supplier driven sales opportunities
  • Interface with and collaborate with Sur-Seal Solutions Engineering, Estimating, and Production Engineering teams to drive optimized new business sales regarding materials and processes
  • Drive timely qualification of new parts by managing the new part introduction process including first article and any related customer qualification processes (such as PPAP)
  • Follow contract review procedures and execute customer order processing as related to the new part introduction process
  • For targeted key accounts, regularly execute part-by-part analysis of costs and prices and subsequently drive execution of corrective actions to ensure achievement of profitability goals (often known as VAVE – Value Analysis Value Engineering)
  • For targeted key accounts, conduct periodic part-by-part sales trend analysis to identify parts which may be dropping in sales (Sales Drop parts)
  • Collaborate with the Account Executive on initiatives to revitalize and/or win-back Sales Drop parts
  • Attend appropriate conferences and events; work in trade show booths as needed
  • Travel as necessary to effectively accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities, including for customer visits, trade shows, and professional development

  11. High proficiency with standard Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe

 

Education and Experience

  1. 3 to 5 years of cross-functional manufacturing environment experience required
  2. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  3. Vertical market experience in HVAC preferred

 

 

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
