The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of managing major retail accounts, growing wholesale revenue, and building long-term relationships with national retailers.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow strategic national retail accounts, driving consistent sales growth, profitability, and customer retention.
- Develop account-specific sales strategies to increase wholesale revenue, expand distribution, and capture additional market share.
- Build strong relationships with retail buyers, category managers, and merchandising teams to secure new product placements and expand existing assortments.
- Identify new business opportunities across apparel, hosiery, and intimate apparel categories, including additional retail channels and product lines.
- Lead pricing negotiations, annual account planning, promotional strategies, and seasonal assortment discussions to maximize sales and margins.
- Analyze sales performance, retail trends, sell-through data, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and improve account performance.
- Collaborate with product development, merchandising, production, and supply chain teams to align customer needs with inventory availability and delivery timelines.
- Manage sales forecasts, account budgets, and revenue targets while maintaining accurate reporting on account performance and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in national account management, key account sales, or wholesale sales within apparel, hosiery, intimate apparel, or related consumer goods categories.
- Established experience working with major national retailers, department stores, mass-market retailers, or large retail chains.
- Proven ability to grow existing accounts, secure new retail distribution, and consistently achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising, assortment planning, product positioning, seasonal buying cycles, and wholesale pricing.
- Demonstrated success negotiating retail programs, promotional agreements, pricing structures, and product placement opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting retail sales data, sell-through reports, margins, and account profitability.
- Excellent relationship management, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior retail buyers and decision-makers.
- Ability to manage multiple high-value accounts independently while coordinating effectively with internal merchandising, operations, and leadership teams.
