Building Maintenance Mechanic

Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:00 PM- 2:30 AM

Pay: $22/hr

Location: Byhalia, MS 38611

Job Summary:
Responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performing routine maintenance around the building, fixing structural damage, for example, windows, doors, or wall repair, which would include dock doors.
• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
• Maintaining the building HVAC thermostats to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
• Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
• Painting as required.
• Assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment.
• Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, and forklifts.
• Operates a boom/scissor lift to repair lighting and perform routine maintenance at 60’ heights.
• Conducts inspections of fire protection system and HVAC system.
• Oversees/participates in routine facility custodial work.
• Maintains MSDS and other facility records to ensure facility remains in OSHA compliance.
• Assists with special projects and other general office tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Management Team.
