About the Role
We’re looking for a Project Engineer who can lead manufacturing projects from launch through production while keeping quality, timing, and customer requirements on track. This role is a strong fit for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, works well across teams, and knows how to turn project plans into real manufacturing results.
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects within a manufacturing environment. The Project Engineer will help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards while supporting production efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new product launches using APQP methodologies
- Manage project timelines in alignment with customer milestones
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, quality, production, customers, and suppliers
- Develop and validate manufacturing processes for automotive precision machined components
- Oversee PPAP submissions and approvals
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and safety standards
- Perform process capability studies, including Cp and Cpk
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methods
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure tooling and component readiness
- Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
- Support and uphold safety and quality standards throughout project execution
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in project engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Automotive and/or precision machined component experience preferred
- Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality, efficiency, and accountability
