Personal Care Attendant/Community Integration
Job Overview:
We are in search of several compassionate, able-bodied/active, non-smoking people for roles in community integration, early-riser shifts, and personal support attendants for clients living with disabilities. Education in early childhood development, ability to use or prior knowledge of ASL, and awareness/understanding of ABA are all tremendous assets for this position. In this position, community integration plays a major role. This means you will facilitate the full inclusion of your client in the recreation, volunteer, and employment at sites of their choosing. Your job will also include performing basic housekeeping duties, assisting with personal hygiene and meals, administering medications and providing general daily support. To ensure success in this position, you should have a wholehearted desire or talent to want to work with people with disabilities.
There is potential opportunity for both full and part time positions, including split shifts, depending on experience and individual strengths. Having a registered and insured vehicle is a requirement for full-time and certain hourly positions. Drug-testing and a background check are also required before starting this position.

After a 3-month evaluation your pay can increase up to $25.00/hr
A Personal Support Attendant, or PSA, assists people with disabilities in living more independently and participating in daily life. Their responsibilities can include:
- Basic personal care assistance such as grooming, feeding, and administering daily medications.
- Collaborate with clients’ family to prioritize and ensure quality care.
- Performing household tasks like cooking, cleaning, and running errands.
- Promote full engagement of clients in their chosen activities.
- Performing routine checks, administering medications, and wound care if applicable.
- Encourage clients in learning how to do things independently and problem-solve to amplify their life skills.
- Providing emotional support for clients when needed.
- Promote safety awareness while with clients.
- Recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to clients and resolve issues when necessary.
- Aid in clients' access to resources and opportunities in the community, participate in extracurricular activities, and pursue recreational hobbies.
- Working with clients to advocate for their rights and services, as well as working with employers to customize job duties.
